Sleeping Beauty

Family Trip

This weekend we went to Nashville to see Carole King and James Tayor in concert. We got to hang out with Grandma, Grandpa, Travis, Aunt Jelly, Uncle Michael, Uncle Squirrel, Aunt Bear, and Uncle David. We had a great time! Charlie was a real trooper and went with the flow. I must say I was impressed, but of course I'm partial. :)

First Time...

When Charlie was a few days old I was talking to Uncle Michael. He asked me what Charlie had done for the first time that day. We talked about how many first she will be having. Of course we thought of the bigger things: rolling over, walking, talking. But this discussion has made me think about some of the smaller firsts too: first time she wore shorts, went to a different state, peed on mommy. Last week Charlie had several first. She rolled from her back to her tummy, sat in her high chair, and stayed in a hotel for the first time. Here she is in her high chair. At first she wasn't sure what to think, but daddy rolled her around the kitchen in her high chair that night. I'm not sure which of them had more fun!

Uncle David

Uncle David finally had a break from school and was able to come and visit Charlie. They had not seen each other since Charlie was 3 days old! They had a lot of fun playing together and hanging out. Charlie was smitten and couldn't take her eyes off of him the first day.

Flower Girl

Aunt Sarah got married on May 15, and Charlie got to be a flower girl at the wedding. Daddy carried Charlie down the isle, and they were styling! Daddy in his tux, and Charlie in the beautiful dress DeDe made. Here is a picture of Charlie with the bride, Aunt Sarah.

Mother's Day

Sunday was a very special day. Not only was it Mother's Day, it was Charlie's baby dedication at church. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." God has blessed us with Charlie, and we made a promise to train her up in the way she should go. We pray for the wisdom and patience to do that.

Charlie and Horton

Grandma loves to read to Charlie. One of the first books Grandma read to Charlie was Horton Hatches an Egg. Grandma surprised Charlie with her very own Horton!

Bridal Luncheon

This past Saturday Charlie got to attend her first bridal luncheon. The luncheon was for her Aunt Sarah's wedding. Charlie got to see lots of her extended family, and we had fun hanging out with the girls! Charlie also made a new friend. Mali wasn't so sure about Charlie at first, but after a little while they became buddies. Here are a few pictures that Cousin Kat took. Thanks Kat!

Popping the Question

We are so happy for Mitchell and Heather! They got engaged last Saturday on Heather's Birthday. Charlie was so excited she made a shirt for Bear. Congratulations you guys!

Sorry!

I'm sorry that I have been slacking with the updates lately. My Dad was put back in the hospital this week so they could run some more tests to find out what is going on. I stayed at the hospital some to keep Dad and Mom company. Uncle Squirrel and Aunt Jelly came to see Dad too. It was the only the second time Uncle Squirrel got to see Charlie. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of him with Charlie! :(
On a happier note....We also found out that we are getting to move back to the Shoals! Florence was added to Ryan's work territory so that means we get to move home. Ryan and I have been trying to get our house ready to put on the market. To say the least this has been a pretty busy week!
Here is a picture of Charlie watching tv with Grandpa while he was in the hospital.
